San Diego Human Dignity Foundation Announces AIDSWatch 2014 Matching Grant!

San Diego Human Dignity Foundation will grant up to 8 consumers living with HIV in San Diego County 50% of the cost for attending this 3 day event. To qualify consumers must be nominated by a recognized San Diego AIDS/HIV Service Provider who has received funding from San Diego Human Dignity Foundation in 2014 or 2013. We will make all the flight and hotel accommodations and cover the cost of meals as well. The sponsoring agency and/or individual will need to raise $800 to receive the matching grant.

Join us for the largest annual national constituent-based advocacy event focused on HIV and AIDS in the United States. A partnership of Treatment Access Expansion Project, AIDS United and the US People Living with HIV Caucus, AIDSWatch draws hundreds of HIV-positive advocates and their allies to Washington DC to educate Members of Congress and their staff about HIV/AIDS. All participants are provided with training on current science, legislative agendas, and conducting effective meetings with their elected representation.

  • Training will take place on Monday, April 28 at FHI 360 Conference Center, 1825 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington DC.

  • Meetings with Congressional offices will take place throughout the day on Tuesday, April 29, and will be scheduled by regional/state coordinators.

  • Registration for AIDSWatch is free and includes continental breakfast and lunch on April28th. Meals can only be guaranteed for those who have registered by March 31, 2014.

  • Special rate available at Hotel Palomar for AIDSWatch participants. A block of rooms at discounted rates have been established at Hotel Palomar, located in Dupont Circle, just a few blocks from the Training Site at FHI 360 Conference Center. To obtain the conference rate, let reservations know you are attending AIDSWatch.

    Rate:
    $209/night + 14.5% tax. Rate is available for Sunday, April 27 and Monday, April 28, and must be booked by March 28, 2014.

San Diego Human Dignity Foundation Announces New Grant Programs!

The San Diego Human Dignity Foundation’s board of directors is proud to announce the star of two new grant opportunites to benefit San Diego's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community starting this year. In one program SDHDF will designate up to $50,000 to match qualifying donations to participating LGBT non-profit organizations for the time period of July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014. Certian qualifying restrictions will apply. In the second program, the SDHDF Board of Directors has designated up to $100,000 from its general endowment to be expended in a direct grant program for the upcoming year.  Grants of up to $10,000 may be awarded to qualifying organizations that deliver strong programs and services to the LGBT community.
