The success of the Diversionary Theatre’s family-friendly musical “The Daddy Machine” is an excellent example of the arts positive impact. The musical premiered at the Diversionary Theatre in January 2008 and then travelled to San Diego State University and California State University Long Beach before performing twice on Rosie O’Donnell’s Family Vacation Cruise. The results were over 1,840 people saw the performances and caught an engaging and positive snapshot of LGBT family life. The San Diego Human Dignity Foundation is interested in continuing its support of the arts and looks for programs that not only celebrate our diversity, but are also able to utilize the arts as a vehicle to enhance all aspects of human dignity.
