Our LGBT community has lacked a well-established tradition of inter-generational wealth transfer and financial support, and especially in these hard times, we are working to change this. Members of our Legacy Society have included the Foundation as a beneficiary in their estate plans. Today 42 individuals or couples have joined our Legacy Society, representing many, many millions of dollars of future value that will be available to promote wellness and well-being within San Diego's gay community.

In the Jewish faith, The Book of Life symbolizes promises from one generation to the next to ensure the strength and vibrancy of the community. Drawing upon their traditions, values and life experiences, signers share their hopes and dreams for the future.

SDHDF's Book of Life captures the promises of one generation to the next in a permanent and powerful way that will lift up our community in times of hardship. Each personal statement in our Legacy Society Book of Life is a commitment made by one generation to the next to secure the future of our LGBT community. Joining the Legacy Society is a way of saying "I believe in San Diego's LGBT community. I want to perpetuate my commitment beyond my lifetime."
